Raiding

We want raid nights to feel organized without feeling overly serious. Show up when you can, communicate when you can’t, come ready to play, and help us figure things out together.

Everything below lays out when we raid, what we expect from each other, and how we plan to approach progression in Forever.

AT LAUNCH

When new PvE content releases, we plan to raid two nights a week on Wednesday and Monday. This gives us some extra time early on to progress through new content while everyone is excited and there’s plenty to do.

AFTER A FEW WEEKS

The expectation is that Monday will likely become optional after a certain number of weeks, once we’ve made enough progress and no longer feel like two nights are necessary.

LONG TERM

Wednesday remains our primary raid night, and Mondays may still be used as an optional second night depending on interest — more PvE content, alt runs, PvP, or whatever else people feel like doing together.

Invites will typically start going out around 15 minutes before raid. Please try to be ready to go before the scheduled start time so we can make the most of our time together.

ATTENDANCE

Life happens.
Just let us know.

We’re completely understanding of people having to miss raid. Life happens, plans come up, people go on vacation, get sick, or just have other things going on.

We just ask that you let us know ahead of time whenever possible so we can plan around it.

01

A few days before each raid night, we’ll post a sign-up in Discord so everyone can mark whether they’re planning to attend.

02

Please keep those updated and, if something changes after you sign up, just give us a heads up.

03

If we have more raiders signed up than we need, priority generally goes to people who signed up before the day of the raid. More on sitting/benching in the Forever FAQ.

Emergencies obviously happen. The main thing we want to avoid is regularly expecting someone and then finding out at raid time that they aren’t coming.

OUR MINDSET

Play well, have fun, kill bosses.

We are not trying to sweat the game to death. That’s a big part of the appeal of WoW Forever for us in the first place.

Know your class reasonably well, pay attention during fights, learn from mistakes, and do your best. Nobody needs to omega parse, min-max every possible advantage, or treat raid like a second job.

The goal is to have a group of people who want to play well, help each other, and still keep the game fun while occasionally getting stuff killed.

BOSS RESEARCH

We’re going into every boss blind.

In the spirit of Classic and WoW Forever, as a group we will not be watching boss guides ahead of time.

HOW IT WORKS

We’ll read the in-game raid journal, pull the boss, see what happens, and figure out the fights together from there. Part of the fun is actually experiencing and solving the encounters instead of already knowing where to stand at every percentage.

ON YOUR OWN TIME

We can’t control what anyone does on their own time. If you watch a guide, that’s your call, but please don’t share it with the group unless we ask. Let everyone else experience the fight blind.

IF WE HIT A WALL

If we’ve genuinely tried to figure something out and aren’t making progress, we can absolutely decide as a group to start looking at guides or outside strategies.

We want to experience the fights blind, but we’re not trying to turn WoW into Dark Souls.

Consumables / Guild Support

TBD

We’ll update this section once we know more about Forever professions, consumables, and what makes sense for the guild to provide.

Mandatory Addons

NONE

There are currently no mandatory addons. We may add raid-specific addons later if something proves particularly useful. If we make something mandatory, we’ll give everyone plenty of notice.
